Pete Seeger and Bill – 2004                                Bill before a Gig

For 30 years Bill Wylie has been playing for people in back road taverns, laundromats, schools, prisons, train yards, old folks homes, grange halls, brothels, barn dances, coffee houses, farmers markets, hospitals and church halls.

Wylie plays a mix of traditional folk songs, bar room ballads, gospel, and his own Song Poems that look at the hearts of people he meets in his travels throughout the Pacific Northwest. He plays a few train songs, but you can feel the power and rhythm of the rails in all his music. The salty flavor, grit and bombast of a bygone era is still alive in the music of Bill Wylie, singing and playing piano, banjo, palm drum and guitar.

Wyle is a writer and performer as well as involved with community theater, spoken word performances, and occasionally collaborates with other writers.

To name a few towns and clubs familiar with his work – Far West Billiards, Spokane – Uptown Pub in Port Townsend – The Trillium at Hood River – Klamath Falls, Arcata and Eureka, CA. Recent Festivals include 3 Rivers Folk Festival – Richland, WA – Spokane Folklore Society – Northwest Folklife Festival Seattle, WA – Pumpkin Festival Hudson Valley NY 2004.
